Activity name:
Rock Garden

Materials needed:
Different kinds and colors of rocks - dirty
Scrub brushes
Water
Pan or tub Towels

Preparation:
Place some water into a pan or tub.   Place the dirty rocks in the tub.  Provide scrub brushes and towels. 

Carrying out the activity:
Have the children scrub the rocks with the brushes.  Point out any colors that appear when the rocks become clean. 

After the rocks are clean they children can arrange them together to form a rock garden.
